Davido - Assurance

Starting 2017, Davido made headlines as one of the most talked about artist if not the first in Africa; from hits to hits especially ‘IF’ which is one the most search song in Africa and known on a worldwide. Fans including yours truly needed some sort of “ASSURANCE” that he will keep delivering hits after hits considering he went talent shopping from Mayorkun @iammayorkun, Dremo @dremodrizzy, Ichaba @ichabalavish, Yonda @yonda_music and Peruzzi.

      However, the ASSURANCE he gave was not what I was expecting.  Davido’s brand new song ‘Assurance’ might have significantly informed the world who his baby is but the song is least likely to be the next top wedding song even though it gave his partner Chioma Avril Rowland popularly known as @chefchioma the key to his world (and I love it). Davido released the song just in time for his lady love gifting her with a brand new car garnished more attention than the song itself which was release today May 1, 2018.

For us that love LOVE, we love the “Accolades” he gave her; but lyrically “ASSURANCE” is weak giving us an unimaginative picture of artistic Genuity or the feel of love via his lyrics, if he was to avoid that in the future he will need to have a worthy lyricist to do the job.

The video was directed by Meji Alabi who took advantage of the tropical scenery suited for a love song giving us a clear picture quality.

     Musically, Assurance did not just do it for me.
