Marube Moninda: The Man who Out Ran Two Black Bears (#safely #luckily)

Last Year Moninda Marube ran to raise awareness on Human Trafficking and two days ago, Moninda Marube is a Kenya born professional runner went for his daily morning routine of 18mile run in Maine where he out ran not just one but TWOO black killer bears.

According to GMA, Moninda Marube was 6 miles into his run when he he heard a rustling in the wood but he ignored it till he stopped and staring at two black bears came out of the woods and on his trail.

I had to think very fast,
Jumping into the lake is not an option
In my head, I know could not climb up a tree because bears can climb tree,
The only solution I had at that time was to be able to run
And those calculation took about 5seconds

Human survival instinct kicked in; he ran for his life .. even though he knew never to run when faced with a bear. He out ran both bears thanks to the house he took refuge in.

Next time Marube who isn’t scared of a lion but finds bears scary said he would be running with a can of pepper spray and his biggest lesson he learnt is to “Just make peace with people. You never know when your day (death) comes.”

Congratulations Moninda Marube.
