When a music video is done well and I get to write about it, It makes me feel like I am not the only one that knows the importance of a video to a song; the video narrates the lyrics (period). Today I watched Niyola's love to love you featuring Phyno, Lynxx,Sarkodie and Poe and I was so over it.....QUICK and then from the corner of my eye; I saw the the original video featuring Banky W and I was like....dayuummm

The three minutes plus video was directed by Unlimited LA (good job) which shows African costumes, new dance steps and neon effects that featured Mavin's boss Don Jazzy; a nostalgic video that reminds me of the Gods must be crazy movie.

      When I think neo-soul/Afro/hip hop, the names that pops in my head are Femi Kuti, Asa, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, D'Angelo, Lauryn Hill, Bilal, India Arie, Common, Dwele, Dr Dre, JayZ and Mos Def. All of these artist and more have marked their presence with huge success in the genre. I have not heard anything like this in a while; I felt the song, lyrics, concept, beat to my very being and my love for neo-soul/original hip hop erupted (volcanic-like); all I could do was just sit back, listen and groove.
