Street OT
Hmmmm.... I remember the first day I heard Olamide First of all roaring in my sister's car; I looked at her and said WHAT,WHO in the world is that! I just didn't feel it #newthing and all, so I skipped it, she plyed it again and just told me to "keep an open mind and just listen". In the end, I stole the CD and listen to it everyday on my way back from work. Anyways, Olamide has had a successful career since his debut with three successful album to show for it. Last year he released another Album STREET OT - a walk through the street/life in the eyes of Olamide
With legions of compulsive fans who will so love anything Olamide, this album will bring more fans with the different types of appeal (rap, soul and more comic lovers) attached to this album.... you just can't let his slang get in the way of enjoying his works. If there was a walk of fame monument in Nigeria Olamide will have had his star back in 2011. His adventurous music journey, first was Raspsodi in 2011, YBNL in 2012, BGEL 2013 and now Street OT....Olamide is one artist who looks and acts a like bum but far from it. #tightpackage
YBNL lead man is an artist of age who knows better but young enough not to care; hes fond of saying a lot of nasty things that gets you either pissed or cracking.Yet amongst the miss (#perceive), lies a respectful, strong-willed hustler and appealing artist with a mission.
Let take it back time to 1999, the track shows the delicate streak of Olamide tempered with a survivor and success story...wetin really ginger the grind/ omo na 1999/people dey sympathize, I was traumatized,I realise its time to organise myself in track tittled 1999; referencing his family's past experiece and struggle with a beautiful idolation of his dad who he said
Viktoh, lil kesh, Reminisce and more.Street OT is lined with beatz, ominous bass, a defiance sound that meld perfectly with the 22 tracks. When simple conversation turns to great music with works by a musician who I never thought would still be in the game and still very relevant after two freaking year to year albums then maybe, just maybe hes as iconic as Sango, Obatala, Bob marley and Tufcae just he said in Zero Joy. thing I also know based on this album is that he might not have listened to Madonna growing up, he didn't grow up just listening to Salawa but he definitely grew up listening to BIG, Dre,Snoop and other iconic tinsel rappers because three tracks reminds of american rap (Prayer for Client, Zero Joy, In my circle) but he is not the tout he wants everyone to think.....BRAVO!!!!!

my papa dey hustle, my papa de grind, my papa send all he pikin to school, my papa no mind ko mu garri ko sun.
Its about time an artist praise their dad; a beautiful track and vocals. There's no way an artist like Olamide is loved by everyone within and outside the industry but with fame come haters and fakers in the inner circle, colleagues and fans in
rappers tu to lenu won spit/ mo throw up bi ti sango oko oya mon yo ina lenu mo bi(love this line)
he acknowledges facts by saying gbogbo alangba lo danu bole ow mo i tinu ro(fakers), Love your neighbor as your self to wa ninu bible len jo la e. In Blood Money he said people dey carry matter, Mo ra ye beef owo ni mo wa make; yet in Eni Sun the jabs seems to be directed at a specific person. I have been cracking my head to know who this track is directed at e believe pe awan ni ota yin but awa lan fi butter si bread yin
for someone who don't want beef, you sure are about to start one.. Olamide must know that WITH FAME COMES HATERS AND FAKERs but hey....his lyrics are hilarious and at the same time full of jabs....Hood Rap.....forming cool cats, meow pussy n**s. #dope.
The highest pump of the album was the real MVP, an energized tune that comes with a luxirous rush every time I listen to it #getpumped. I have few tracks that cracked me and also beyond my comfort zone, he's effortlessly sing with alarming rawness that I wont be talking about (sadly....I want to keep my blog, thank you). The likes of few lines in Oga N la, Up in the club espcially Falila ketan track ( humming....... Falila ketan/ Falila ketan Ema ba wi, skirt ti falila lon pe ni) is just explicit and I love every bit of it. Up in the Club is an hilarious track that is lined with skits. If there was one track that I just can't stand only because of the lyrics is ....Skelemba the least of my favorite in the entire album
Overall, Olamide reasonably strut his skills on this exciting album featuring talented colleagues; .Viktoh, lil kesh, Reminisce and more.Street OT is lined with beatz, ominous bass, a defiance sound that meld perfectly with the 22 tracks.
