AFRIMMA AWARDS

Big A
History was made yesterday in the African Music Entertainment industry.I have never been to Grammy’s Music Award (GMA) but on Saturday July 26, 2014, I saw Grammy’s through the eyes of our very own Big A Entertainment (African Muzik Magazine Award). AFRIMMA brought some of Africa's hottest music artist/stars from all over Africa to grace the event held at the Eisenmann center in Dallas TX USA,  stars like of 2face Idibia (Nigeria), Les Nubians (Cameroun),Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania),Fally Ipupa (DR Congo), Stanley Enow (Cameroun),Wyre (Kenya),Davido, Iyanya, Phyno, Teddy A, Bracket, KC Limpopo (Nigeria) and more. Ace Comedian,Basket Mouth and actress Juliet Ibrahim hosted the show.

Kaffy
The event started with Imagneto Dance Company led by Kaffy herself and we all know her, she never fails to impress the audience with her power dance moves and in few years this woman and her crew will give Ciara and Janet Jackson a run for their moves.

Basket Mouth opened the event saying AFRIMMA awards is the first ever award to pull this much music artist from all over Africa;confirming my view on music as the chain that binds everyone together,  talent is everywhere in Africa and entertainers are the people that gives us hope. I felt love amongst the guest at the event yesterday.
Les Nubians

The best female diaspora was the first award of the night , Miriam Chemmos (Kenya), Mayra Andrande(Cape Verde), Bunmi Thomas( Nigeria),STL (Kenya),Nneka (Nigeria), Dencia (Cameroun) and Les Nubians (Cameroun Winners).Followed by best Traditional Artist which Flavour from Nigeria won amongst other acts from South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Congo.

Teddy A
Teddy A came out to perform his hit song  ‘Ije Love’ I totally love this dude, he was so composed and his performance was very serenading ,fresh and I totally love everything about him.I am looking forward to more video release by him.

The next act was none other than Buchi the Delta born talented comedian who brought adults to tears of laughter as he did few roast.
Buchi
Serge

Serge Beynaud from Cote D’voire and his long time dancer ignited the room with one of his moves and song; I must say his performance was wonderful just as the moves were terrific.

Bracket came in and did their thing; these guys are entertainers with hit songs like yori yori and more
Stanley Enow rap was solid, he is definitely on my radar now.

Iyanya: Iyanya and his sexy self, looking dapper in his fitted suit showing all the things we ladies love. He knew exactly what to do, say, how to move and dance to make the entire ladies in the crowd ROAR!!!! including myself....Sex-iness.

The popular Democratic Republic of Congo born artist Fally Ipupa performed and entertained the crowd with his move, moves even I didn’t know I had in me. He won best male in Central Africa
Fally Ipupa

Davido won 2 trophies for best male and artist of the year…again. The HKN gangs also do what they do best as Davido in full swing brought the entire African present to their feet with hit songs, Skelewu, Gobe and many more.

Legendary award was given to Yvonne Chaka Chaka who unfortunately could not be at the vent but she skyped and said some inspiring words to all African and entertainers. Africa is a blessed continent.
And then there was Phyno, this guy brought the house down with his voice, for a sec I thought Drake (US artist) was in the house. Phyno voice is huge and he's an awesome entertainer and going place. He brought the entire guest up on their feet with 2face,HKN gangs, KCee as we all sang along to his hits song ‘Alobam. He was my favorite act of the night. This dude rap is TIGHT!!

I do not see anyone receiving the honor of leadership in Music but him in the entire Africa continent. The ever so humble, gracious, polite and handsome 2face Idibia who performed his hit song ‘Rainbow ‘with Tpain aka nappy boy

However,The are few glitches about the award, first, they did not have their presenters lined out ahead of the show, Juliet Ibrahim as a co-host was a joke. Secondly, KCee Limpopo crooner who won the award for best song of the year was not listed on the wide screen but he won the award.
Yvonne Chaka was given the leadership awards, she was not present but she gave a wonderful message via prerecoded message via skype. I would have love to see various artist give Yvonne Chaka Chaka a tribute song like umqombothi just the way Iyanya gave a well deserved respect to 2face as he sang his version of African Queen.
In addition, most of all the artist at some point in their career had Big A entertainment involved or still involve which begs the question, can it really be AFRIMMA or Big A entertainment awards; still he pulled lots of African artist and that matters.
Overall, the event was filled with some of the best African artist and musicians from all corners of Africa.
I can not wait for the next but for a first ....7/10
