Asa
Bukola Elemide popularly known as Asa is a Nigerian-French songwriter, recording artist and a soulful singer. She release a brand new video couple of days ago tittled EYO; from her Bed of Stone Album released last year.
EYO: is costumed masquearde dressed in white, although porpolarly known in lagos for its festival (EYO Festival) but its very popular in Nigeria. Asa however took the iconic figure to another level indirectly refering to home (Lagos/Nigeria) as EYO or wherever home is for anyone.

Eyo Masquerade
I was taken immediately by Asa in 2009 when I first heard her hit single Jailer thanks to my sister. I listened to the Album until it turned into 'what I call' DJ intro( extremely scratched disc). Through the years, I kept on listening to her songs, she grew into a more matured woman and an accomplished woman too....Lets get back to EYO.
Asa is seen walking down the a street in Lagos and watching as kids play around, running through the neighborhood playing with each other, kids going to school, two adults going at what seems to be altercation and in a different montage the life of hustling in people's daily lives. Ultimately, Asa sings about a world she once knew and hopes everything is still the same as she remembered:

Asa
going home, going home
where this road goes, I already know
where everybody care for one another
and they take you as their sister
I don't know how to describe the contents in Eyo other than say; its soulful which isn't surprising, I mean.....its ASA for lawd sake. The simple concept tunes well with the lyrical content, although far away from home but her state of mind in the video is in Lagos ( or wherever home is).

Asa
eyo o eyo o
there is something in the song
that makes you feel at home
and that whats calling out my name
eyo o, eyo o
I love the concept, the extra (good casting, they were so orderly and no onlookers, despite the fact that it was shot ona street ), the lyrics and I love love love the her vocals. One thing is definitely certain, there's really something in this song that makes me feel at home. I wont tell you how soulful the song is ; but I am freaking going to recommend it to anyone who cares to listen....see home through ASA ...here is EYO
The extras though........#talkaboutperfectcast
