Lets Talk Review
Even if you don't like IcePrince music or that he acts to American-ish when he performs, it hard to deny that he makes a darn good music video; international standard compatison. After being the only artist with the most remixed song of all time, multiple successful songs and few collaborations with international artist, he no doubt has foreign brand to his name.
I have never heard a song that makes reference to hot young couples in Nigeria; if you are a love puppy, hopeless romantic kind of person then this song is for you. The video was promising from the beginning with its glossy video quality, perfect lights, and graphic effect and a wonderful beatz with lyrics to go with it.
The vocals in the video are beyond transparent, IcePrince might be stiff looking but the artist all decked in aqua blue suit and white shirt with a white background to bring out his wardrobe; so yes his vocal was the first thing to grab my attention ,the beats also kept pulling back to listen to the song over and over again.....gyrating yet delicate. Amidst the gyrating beat lies Afro hip pop poking through his lyrics, that being said IcePrince found a concept to fit comic, different genre and amazing sound into the video and I am loving it.
Its easy to imagine IcePrince in his normal rap zone and entourage behind him but this was different a softer approach....his softer side. That could be us will probably take a swooning effect on every lady that reminisce about love at a point. The complete video has a blushing touch in the slick and soft romantic video,with a theatrical edges IcePrince swag and with just enough touch of humility. He brought originality to the song, he found away to make a woman feel good by comparing his feelings to the power couples in Nigeria.
However, since he made reference to 2baba and annie, Teebilz and Tiwa and others; him and his team should have had a picture of the couple, if not a caricature of them in the video along with other effect they had in place. I also would have loved to see him dance; he was so stiff. (I have never seen him dance and this video would have been perfect to see a little waist twist). IcePrince should watch out for the shades he wears, it could be bad for his video when the shades reflects his crew and props.
Overall, that could be us is a really good song,I found myself using my hand as a microphone while driving as I sing along I like to dey ginger, ginger. If he keeps on the path of breaking grounds with his genre, he will go farther than imagine.
