Tonite
Faze |
Faze was one of the original Afro Hip Hop artist to break out when him and his group plantashun boyz (faze, blackface and Tuface) ran things and shifted Nigerians from hollywood music to more African music. Faze has obviousy moved on from the days of plantashun boiz to releasing his one album "faze alone" his demeanor and soothing vocals raised his fan base across gender lines. So it was shocking when he went MIA for years and to return late last year with a brand new song "Tonite" ft Patoranking
Lets Talk Review
My conviction about Faze is not something I find easy (like king baddo and his skelemba song), the four minute video is filled with exactly what you'd expect from a tittle like Tonite. A beat( faster) and lyrics from Blackstreet ft Foxy Brown's Gotta get you home made me fringe as I listened on.
The unappealing video can agreeably say Faze voice is melodic, layered with a good lyrics but lacks a good hook and beat. Compare to Faze; Patoranking did turn up and lit up the video for a while but it still fell short. The location, picture quality and Faze's wardrobe seemed like the video was not well planned and made Faze come off as an Amateur
Although the song isn't awful, but coming from someone like faze who I know what he's capable off with a voice like his!....Tonite is definitely not his comeback song...I am not just feeling the song but it would be great if Faze listen to his old record and know that there's only one person in Nigeria with his golden voice and as such a darn good writer and musician...so your next song....hit me hard.
Having said that, what he should have done is comeback with a mature content, hit me with his notes I love; amidst the comparison of his past records to now, it is easy to ascertain that he never lost his voice and I am waiting for him to make an impressive come back for this is a miss.
