Patoranking is no doubt the newest and trending reggae artist in Nigeria right now,with his singles and multiple collaboration with leading artist. He deserves a pat on the back with the increasing competitive industry with new artist each day and he's still holding ground with his brand. In this new video tittled Happy Day,Patoranking dabbled into something totally different and risky

Happy day is about every man/woman's day...wedding day.

Let's Talk Review
With the huge Girlie O/Alubarika success that not only put Patoranking on the limelight he also gained respect from fans (like yours truly) and was therefore put on my list of artist that puts dancehall into the mainstream. Happy is not the typical dancehall kind of song which mean not a lot of groove but a very exciting hook anyone is able to hum and sing to once you hear it.
      I like the message in this video; and its interracial dating. It tells a story about Patoranking dating a white girl with intention to marry her but her father doesn't like the idea because he's black,but they still went ahead to marry each other.However, I would have loved it more if Patoranking used the Nigerian tribe instead Hausa/ Igbo or Yoruba; I know he spent most of his life in Nigeria and definitely know that we have tribal issues in Nigeria and he has little clue on the western issue other than what he sees,read and heard about interracial dating.
      The lyrics are not unique but let's just say we have another African wedding theme song;

What god has joined together 

you will leave together no retreat or surrender

its your happy day its your wedding day

your man is loving you, your woman is loving

put a smile on that face

Vertex did an awesome job with directing the video and there was alot going on with this video that could have gone all wrong but this dude did a wonderful job with the choice of sounds,location and light that gives it a classical feeling and a very addictive lyrics. In the end I had a good laugh when Patoranking finally won the his new father in law over with a brand new Audi the look on his face and gesture was funny....typical Lagos boy stunt.
      Personally, I don't know why I feel the song is a miss; probably because its not groovy or because it doesn't give me the dancehall vibe but then again that makes him a good artist with different chaps to music.

Overall, Happy day is the newer version of Neil Oliver Baby girl and we all know baby girl was went viral in Africa.
